It’s time to UnSettle Your Practice

What does it really mean to build a decolonised, liberatory therapy practice?

UnSettle Your Practice is an embodied, step-by-step journey for white, licensed mental health professionals who are ready to move beyond shame and uncertainty, and into ethical, anti-oppressive care — for themselves, their clients, and the world they serve.

You’re committed to equity and inclusion — but something still isn’t clicking.

You’ve attended countless trainings, read the books, joined peer consultations, and followed all the right voices online. Yet, when it comes to actually integrating decolonial and anti-oppressive practices into your therapy:
  • You worry how you come across to clients who look different from you.
  • You doubt whether your care actually meets clients’ needs.
  • You stay silent instead of asking questions—afraid of offending or “getting it wrong.”
  • You wonder if all the trainings you’ve taken are truly serving your clients, or if something’s still missing.
  • You feel uneasy or unsupported in examining what you learned in white/colonized education.
  • You fear making a mistake with a marginalized client or colleague—and don’t know how to repair the harm.

You’re not alone. In fact, this is where most white clinicians get stuck — between knowing the theory and living the practice

Why does this matter?

Decolonizing your practice isn’t just about personal growth -- it’s about contributing to a greater good.

When you move beyond performative allyship and into genuine, embodied change, you help create safer, more inclusive spaces for healing. This work ripples out:

🌱 It supports the well-being of your clients and their communities.

🌱It challenges and transforms oppressive systems within mental health care.

🌱 It models what’s possible for your colleagues, your field, and society at large.

Your commitment to unsettling your practice is a vital act of social responsibility and collective healing.

If you’re ready to answer that call, UnSettle Your Practice is here to guide you

Step into your embodied, decolonized therapeutic practice.

Imagine If You Could…

🌟 Confidently integrate decolonial practices into your therapy sessions, knowing you’re meeting the diverse needs of all your clients.

🌟 Address your own biases and blind spots with practical, embodied strategies, so you can engage in hard conversations without getting stuck in guilt or fear.

🌟 Feel energized and supported by a network of like-minded clinicians who are also committed to decolonizing mental health care.

🌟 Show up authentically in conversations about race, power, and privilege-creating safer spaces for your clients to heal and grow.

Hey there! I'm Sasha!

If we haven’t met yet, I’m a psychotherapist, consultant, and curious human being on my own journey of unlearning colonized ways of knowing and reconnecting with Indigenous knowledge systems.

My ancestors are from Migisi Sahgaigan, also known as Eagle Lake First Nation in Treaty Three territory (1873), in what is now called Ontario, Canada. This grounding shapes everything I do.

My work blends relational care, embodied practice, and accountability, rooted in both lived experience and ongoing unlearning.

I’m here to walk alongside you as you navigate your own path toward decolonising your practice. I’ve supported many colleagues and friends through this work, and I’m so glad you’re here.

Here’s what it looks like to walk this path together.

What to Expect Inside the Journey

Connecting to Self and Community
We begin by connecting to ourselves and exploring what it means to be fully present in our work and relationships. Together, we examine how our identities shape the way we show up and connect—not just as individuals, but as part of a larger whole.

Leaning Into Discomfort with Support
As trust deepens, we invite honest conversations about our own biases and how these influence our practice. We hold space for new awareness, giving each member strength and courage to lean into discomfort and embrace growth.

Tending to the Emotional Realities
We share strategies to address guilt, shame, and the emotional weight that comes with unsettling old patterns and challenging unfair systems. This work isn’t just about gaining knowledge—it’s about being held and encouraged in community.

Dismantling and Rebuilding Together
Together, we question and dismantle colonial influences and power dynamics. Even when we encounter obstacles, the community becomes a source of accountability and inspiration, with everyone moving forward at their own pace.

Integrating and Moving Forward with Intention
The journey culminates in each member integrating what they've learned and, supported by the group, setting powerful, sustainable intentions for ongoing change. Every step is taken together, with a sense of purpose, courage, and belonging.

This isn’t just a course—it’s a shared journey designed to foster community, growth, and transformative change.

This is for you if...

  • You’re ready to move beyond surface-level learning and embody anti-oppressive, decolonial practice in your everyday work.
  • You want to extend your impact beyond the therapy room and support marginalized communities in meaningful, lasting ways.
  • You’re willing to get uncomfortable, knowing that’s where deep growth and real change begin.
  • You’re looking for a clear, step-by-step path and a supportive community to walk alongside you.

Yes, it's absolutely possible to...
