UnSettle Your Practice is a live clinical training program for therapists developing real-time somatic and relational presence in session.

You can understand anti-oppressive practice conceptually and still feel uncertain in the moment it actually matters in the room.

This training focuses on what you do in those moments.

Learn More

In a session, this may look like...

You may already recognize this pattern in your work.

You’ve completed trainings, read extensively, and put effort into staying accountable in your practice.

And still—there are moments in session where something becomes harder to access in real time.

In those moments, you may notice:

  • your attention tightening as you try to figure out the “right” way to respond

  • hesitation before asking a question that feels important but uncertain

  • a subtle shift away from direct contact with what is happening in the room

  • increased self-monitoring while still trying to stay present with the client

  • a sense of carrying discomfort in your body without a clear way to orient to it

In practice, this often shows up less as a clear thought and more as a felt shift in presence—slightly less ease, less clarity, or a narrowing of response options.

So you slow down.
You become careful.
You stay engaged—but with less access to your full clinical range.

This is a common in-session experience when clinicians are working at the edge of their capacity for relational complexity and real-time responsiveness.

Why this matters in clinical practice?

These moments may not always look significant from the outside.

But in session, they shape the quality of contact between you and your clients in real time.

When these shifts go untracked, clinicians often find themselves:

- moving away from what is actually happening in the room

- defaulting to caution instead of clinical responsiveness

- missing opportunities for repair or deeper contact

- narrowing their relational presence in complex moments

- relying more heavily on cognitive processing than embodied awareness

Over time, this can lead to sessions that feel “fine” on the surface, but less connected, less responsive, or harder to fully inhabit as a clinician.

Not because of lack of care or skill—but because the moment-to-moment signals in the body and relational field are not being fully used as part of clinical decision-making.

This is the gap this training works with directly.

ABOUT THE FACILITATION

This is not supervision, case consultation, or conceptual training.
It is structured, facilitated clinical practice focused on developing in-session somatic awareness and relational responsiveness in real time.

If you’re ready to If you’re ready to stop second-guessing your clinical responses in the moments that matter most in session, this is where we begin. Join UnSettle Your Practice.

Hey there! I'm Sasha!

If we haven’t met yet, I’m a psychotherapist, consultant, and curious human being on my own journey of unlearning colonized ways of knowing and reconnecting with Indigenous knowledge systems.

My ancestors are from Migisi Sahgaigan, also known as Eagle Lake First Nation in Treaty Three territory (1873), in what is now called Ontario, Canada. This grounding shapes everything I do.

My work blends relational care, embodied practice, and accountability, rooted in both lived experience and ongoing unlearning.

I’m here to walk alongside you as you navigate your own path toward decolonising your practice. I’ve supported many colleagues and friends through this work, and I’m so glad you’re here.

What begins to shift in your clinical work

As this training is integrated into practice, clinicians often begin to notice changes in how they relate to moments of complexity in session.

Rather than moving away from discomfort, over-explaining, or shifting into analysis, there is a growing capacity to stay in contact with what is happening in real time.

You may notice:

  • more ability to stay present when emotional intensity or relational uncertainty arises

  • increased awareness of early nervous system cues such as tightening, urgency, or withdrawal

  • faster recognition when you have shifted out of direct contact with the client

  • more capacity to remain engaged without defaulting to over-responsibility or self-monitoring

  • clearer access to clinical decision-making while staying relationally present

The focus is not on becoming a different kind of therapist.

It is on expanding what you can stay with—internally and relationally—without leaving the clinical moment.

How UnSettle Your Practice Works

Learning to practice differently requires more than new knowledge. It requires new ways of noticing yourself while you're with clients.

Each week, we'll build that capacity together through a structured rhythm of learning, practice, reflection, and integration—so what you learn doesn't stay in the classroom. It becomes part of how you show up in the therapy room.

Live Clinical Learning

Each week we'll meet live to explore the week's clinical focus through teaching, discussion, case examples, and guided reflection.

Together we'll slow down moments that often happen too quickly to notice:

  • the urge to rescue or fix
  • uncertainty and not knowing
  • activation in yourself
  • relational ruptures
  • moments where your body knows something before your mind does

Rather than asking, "What intervention should I use?" we'll also ask,

"What is happening inside me as I sit with this client?"

Because that awareness changes the therapy.

Embodied Clinical Practice

Throughout the program you'll experience guided somatic practices designed specifically for clinicians.

These aren't wellness exercises or self-care activities. They're practical ways of strengthening your capacity to notice nervous system shifts, remain present under pressure, and respond with greater intention when therapy becomes emotionally complex.

The goal isn't perfect regulation.

It's greater awareness, greater choice, and greater clinical flexibility.

Reflection & Integration

Between sessions you'll receive structured reflection prompts and integration practices that help bridge learning into your everyday clinical work.

You'll begin noticing:

  • recurring patterns in your therapeutic stance
  • moments you disconnect or over-function
  • where your own nervous system shapes clinical decisions
  • new possibilities for responding with greater intention

Because insight matters—but integration changes practice.

Ongoing Support

Learning happens between sessions as much as during them.

Throughout the program you'll have access to:

  • a private community space for questions and discussion
  • bi-weekly live Ask Me Anything sessions
  • optional practice partnerships for deeper reflection and accountability

You'll be supported as you experiment, reflect, and integrate new ways of working into your own clinical style.

Program Format

Length: 8 weeks

Schedule: Live weekly sessions (September–October 2026)

Cohorts: Small affinity-based groups

Choose the learning space that best supports your growth:

BIPOC Cohort
A space for clinicians who identify as Black, Indigenous, or People of Colour to explore embodied practice alongside others with shared lived experiences.

White Clinicians Cohort
A space for white clinicians committed to developing greater embodied awareness, cultural humility, and accountability in their clinical practice.

Both cohorts receive the same curriculum, facilitation, and learning outcomes. The affinity structure is designed to support deeper conversation, psychological safety, and meaningful integration.

This training is a fit if you are a clinician who:

  • notices moments in session where you become unsure how to respond when power, difference, or emotional intensity is present

  • can recognize your clinical patterns in hindsight, but want to build more access to awareness in real time

  • is already committed to reflective practice, but wants stronger somatic awareness in-session

  • finds that complex relational moments can lead to overthinking, hesitating, or shifting away from direct contact

  • wants structured support translating theory into embodied clinical decision-making

This work is not focused on adding more conceptual knowledge.

It is focused on developing what you can notice and work with while you are in session.
